A Letter to all Parents and Carers
Updated: Sunday 3rd January 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday afternoon I wrote to you via email with some information on the return to school.
The Government has since issued special school guidance on Thursday (31st) evening. You may also have seen the statement (click here) from Haringey council of the growing concerns that Haringey is not on the Government’s contingency list. They are therefore advising primary schools to re-open to only a small number of children.
Given these two pieces of advice and guidance, we want to ensure school is the safest place to return to for both pupils and staff.
Please find below our current plan for next week. The Government guidance does identify the need for flexibility within the first week in returning to school so that school can plan efficiently and effectively.
Apologise in advance for any changes as we are responding daily to guidance and Government advice.
Monday 4th January
Tuesday 5th January
Wednesday 6th January
Thursday 7th January (onwards)
May I remind you it is essential that any member of the school community who feels unwell should remain at home and it is highly recommended that a COVID test is taken if their symptoms are those associated with COVID-19. We are aware, however, that for many of our children, the test may well be traumatic and that it is unlikely they would be able to self-administer. If it is not possible for a child to be tested then they should self-isolate for 10 days.
The new Haringey walk in test centre is located at 48 Station Road, N22 7TY and we be opening from Tuesday 5th January from midday until 7pm. The location of those in other Boroughs will be available on the Council website.
We will continue to keep you updated with any further changes or responses to Government guidance as and when we have it.
As always, you are welcome to contact us if you have any queries or concerns.
Kind Regards,
Lucia Santi

These are challenging times so everything we can do to support our families, we are doing. Please look in your email inbox as these should be arriving shortly.
We will be contacting our most vulnerable families and those who are key workers over the holiday period to ascertain demand for placed from 20th April. In the meantime, you can email the school office if you have any concerns.
Don’t forget we have our home learning page which can you can to supplement the work that is sent to you by teachers. There are some good guides and websites that your children can access, particularly over the holiday period.

School remains closed until further notice. We are keeping in regular contact with all our families to ensure everyone is safe. Teachers are in daily communication with families and sending work home through the different school platforms. Some families have received packs of work and we will endeavour to provide these from home for you.
Please look at the Home Learning Tab on the website as this has lots of links to activities and resources you can use if you need ideas. Click here to go straight to this tab.
After receiving feedback from parents and carers, we have no plans to open the school over the Easter as there is no demand. If this changes and you do require an emergency place for your child because they fall under the category of a) vulnerable and at risk or b) child of a key worker with no provision at home, then there will be some hub places available within the LA. Please contact Ms Huseyin and she will talk this through with you.
We are continuing to provide supermarket vouchers for families to support those that qualify for free school meals. The next set will be in the form of an ‘e-voucher’ which will be sent directly through to your email address that the school has on record.

Update 23rd March
There has been new guidance issued by the Government last night regarding school temporary closure.
We have been asked to run a risk assessment of our children of key workers and our vulnerable children, this includes those with EHCPs. This is to ascertain if attending school is safer than remaining at home and minimizing the spread of the virus.
You can read more on the most current guidance here; https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-school-closures/guidance-for-schools-about-temporarily-closing
We have once again been asked to make some tough decisions. As a result it is with deep regret that we have reduced the school offer to those pupils who are most in need. This will start from Tuesday 24th March. We will contact each family to let them know of the changes.
We can only apologise for the ever changing decisions but these uncertain times are demanding we must react quickly to new information.
Please continue to keep in contact with the school via the website page LATEST NEWS or via our social media platforms. Alternatively you can continue to call the school office on 020 3876 6555.
Teachers are putting together work packs and also maintaining contact with families via email to provide remote learning and support. Ms Nadine Huseyin will be available to support families during this time.
If your child is NOT at school they MUST be kept at home; they are not to be out in the community. This is vital to ensure the minimisation of the virus being spread. Please make sure you enforce this at home.
Update 20th March
The government has asked schools to stay open to the children of key workers and vulnerable children.
Key workers are defined as those working in:
Vulnerable children include children with Education, Health Care Plans and those that have a social worker.
We have had to make some really difficult decisions about how to run the school safely from Monday 23rd March. It is with deep regret that we have to part close the school.
We will be offering 20 school places to those pupils who are our most vulnerable. Most of these pupils already receive intervention support from our pastoral team. School transport should be running as usual for these pupils.
If families who have been offered one of these places choose not to take this up we will contact other families to offer out the remaining places.
Whilst we are trying to provide a structured routine for pupils next week, they will be grouped into different classes and be working with different staff. The timetable offered will be more inline with a creative and life skills offer rather than the usual structure of a typical school day.
In addition to running a limited provision, teaching staff will be keeping in touch with families on a regular basis and be sending home learning resources as appropriate.
I am asking all families to please stay in touch so we can share information with you on a weekly basis as to what is happening. Please look out for text messages and check our latest news section on the website or our Facebook and Twitter platforms. At the moment there is quick change and we are doing our best to respond to this.
I send you our very best wishes during these uncertain and unprecedented times.
Lucia Santi
