The Grove has a school uniform which we encourage pupils to wear with pride as it promotes a sense of community and belonging at the school.
Uniform can be ordered online through our supplier Goodies at www.gooddies.co.uk
In order to support families, uniforms are simple and for the most part can be purchased in local stores or supermarkets.
Uniforms are flexible. There is no distinction between expectations during summer or winter months. We allow pupils to wear whichever part of the uniform they are comfortable with.
We do recommend that pupil names are put on all items of uniform and PE kit as items of clothing can get muddled or lost.

Sixth Form (Years 12-14)
Students in 6th form are not required to wear uniform. However, as part of the learning of life skills and preparation for the world of work and adulthood we ask students to be smartly dressed. This includes no ripped jeans, logo sweatshirts, excessive jewellery or inappropriate items. Staff will support students in understanding what is appropriate for school.
During work placements, students will be required to wear smart clothing as expected within the workplace.
PE Kit
We expect all pupils across the school, including sixth form, to change for PE. This is an important life skill and helps pupils to understand and practise personal hygiene.
- Light blue polo shirt – These can be purchased with the school logo through Goodies or purchased independently
- Navy blue jogging bottoms or leggings.
- Navy sweatshirt – These can be purchased with the school logo through Goodies or purchased independently
Swimming Kit
Swimming takes place at agreed times across the year. The teacher will inform parents and carers when swimming blocks are taking place.
- Swimming shorts OR swimsuit

Outdoor clothing
Pupils must ensure that all outdoor clothing, including their coat, is labelled. Pupils go out to play each day, numerous times, so appropriate outdoor wear should be supplied.
During the hotter months, a sunhat and sunscreen should be supplied in pupils’ bags.
Outdoor clothing for Forest School
We encourage pupils to change into “old” clothes and wellington boots for their Forest school sessions. Sessions take place in all weather conditions so we encourage them to be prepared to get muddy! Please let the school know if we need to help with supplies.
Pupils out of uniform
Some pupils will find wearing a uniform difficult. However, we would still expect their clothing to be in line with the school uniform. For example, black and navy blue with white tops.
The school will discuss each case individually with parents and carers and ensure an agreed adjustment is made in line with the needs of the child, for example, pupils with a strong sensory sensitivity to materials.
Second Hand Uniform
We keep a stock of second hand uniforms in school. These are available at any time. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment to come and collect any items that you may need.
